Come Celebrate the Power of Sports and the Joy of Competition at the 45th Annual Philadelphia Spring Games on Saturday, April 29th, 2023 at William Penn Charter School
Friends, fans and supporters of Special Olympics PA athletes are welcome to join us as volunteers or "Fans in the Stands" at the 2023 Special Olympics PA Philadelphia Spring Games, presented by NJM Insurance, starting with Opening Ceremony at 9:00am. Volunteer opportunities include event set up, registration, Opening Ceremony support, awards, basketball scorekeeping and officiating, tennis scorekeeping and general support, track & field scorekeeping and general support, Olympic Village, and Unified Soccer Exhibition/skills clinic.
Over three hundred athletes, volunteers and fans from around Philadelphia and surrounding counties are expected to be in attendance. In addition to the basketball, tennis and track & field competition, future athletes and children of all abilities are invited to join the Young Athletes inclusive play and intro to sports activity stations for ages 2 -7. This year’s event will also feature a Unified Soccer skills showcase highlighting the Philadelphia Unified Soccer program and opportunities to get involved in the next Special Olympics PA sports season.
When athletes aren’t competing or fans are taking a break from cheering, they will head to Olympic Village to participate in fun activities like yard games, arts and crafts, and educational resources! Community organizations can contact philly@specialolympicspa.org with requests to participate as vendors in the Olympic Village resource fair.
