Elora J. Khan Foundation

The Elora J. Khan Foundation was created in memory of Elora Joyce Khan, the joyful 7-year-old daughter of long-time CASA player Anthony Khan. Elora’s laughter and bright spirit inspired everyone who knew her. After a seven-month battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and devastating pediatric brain cancer, Elora passed away in September 2023. Her legacy now lives on through the Foundation’s mission to bring hope, awareness, and action to families facing this disease.

Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children, of all pediatric cancer deaths.

DIPG/DMG is the worst of the worst:

100% fatal
Average survival: 9–12 months
Inoperable, untreatable, and tragically underfunded
Less than 4% of federal cancer research dollars go to all childhood cancers, and only a fraction reaches DIPG/DMG

We are dedicated to:

Assisting children battling brain cancer and their families through direct support and resources.

Providing for orphans and children in need, ensuring they experience love, dignity, and care.

Offering educational scholarships and supporting educators. 

Supporting faith-based programs that help children grow in their knowledge of God’s love.

Through every act of giving and every life touched, Elora’s light continues to shine — reminding the world that love is stronger than fear, and faith is everlasting.

As a bereaved sibling-led foundation, our mission is also deeply personal. We strive to fill the gaps in the current pediatric brain tumor system by creating real pathways of support and best practices in DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) care.

We fund DIPG Nurse Navigator to compassionately guide families through every step of their journey,
and support a DMG Tumor Board to foster expert collaboration and expand treatment options so that every child has a chance at better care, hope, and healing
