Who We Are

Keep Music Alive is a Delaware County based national music education non-profit.  Our main programs are Teach Music Week (March), Kids Music Day (October), year-round Musical Instrument Petting Zoo events (120 events in 2024) and an After-School Music Lesson program in Chester, Pennsylvania.

What We Do

Our Keep Music Alive mission is to help more children (and adults) reap the educational, therapeutic and social benefits of playing music. Our major programs are Teach Music Week (March), Kids Music Day (October) and yearround Musical Instrument Petting Zoo events at schools, libraries and community festivals (120 events in 2024).  We bring over 50 different instruments for kids to interact with including acoustic & electric guitars, ukuleles, keyboards, and dozens of different types of percussion instruments.  In the Fall of 2024, we launched a free after-school music lessons (and instruments) program for disadvantaged students. With each of these programs, our aim is to inspire the next generation of music makers. We're not trying to help every child become a professional musician. The goal of our programs is to give every child the best chance of success no matter what career path they choose later in life. Learning to play music during their developmental years is the magic that can help make that happen.
