What is a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo???
I’m glad you asked!  It is often referred to as the “Please Touch Museum” for musical instruments (no animals involved) where kids & adults get to have a fun, interactive experience with over 50 different musical instruments – an opportunity to touch & play every instrument! 

What will volunteers be doing?
Another great question!  Depending on the amount of time a student can provide, they can volunteer from the very beginning of an event (loading in the instruments & set up) to the very end (packing up & loading instruments into the van). In between set up and taking down, the students demonstrate how an instrument works... it literally takes only seconds to demonstrate an instrument).  NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE needed.  That’s right, no experience is needed… we will show you how everything works.

You DO NOT need to volunteer for the full 4 , you can volunteer for just an hour or a few hours, whatever is convenient for you.  When we email you, simply let us know what time you are available & how much time you can volunteer for.

Come support the community of William T Tilden Middle School! FAWN is hosting a Maternal Care Drive to provide essential items for new and expecting mothers during one of the most important times in their lives.

Every donation makes a difference! Drop off any maternal care items and help us uplift the mothers who need it most.

Join our Executive Chefs to provide the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia with a delicious dinner! We feed 250 to 300 people daily. You do not need to bring any food or supplies; everything will be onsite when you arrive to work with our Food Services team. Our Executive Chef sets the menu based on available ingredients in our pantry.

Every Sunday we go to Philadelphia to feed the unhoused and underprivileged. We have a weekly need for any kind of baked goods to serve.  Baking is done in your own home. You can baked whatever you like (cookies, brownies, muffins, etc) and when they are cooled they are to be packaged into individual snack bags. Each participant should bake at least 2 dozen items.  All baked goods must be delivered on Saturday between 10am and 1pm to:

Each week we take out sandwiches to the homeless and underprivileged as part of our Treats on the Streets Project.  Most popular sandwiches are turkey and beef bologna. Many do not eat pork so we tend to stay away from ham or pork products.  Please prepare at least 2 dozen sandwiches on white or wheat bread. Please do not add condiments of any kind as it makes the bread soggy. Sandwiches should be packed in individual sandwich bags.

Keep Music Alive is seeking volunteers to help with our Musical Instrument Petting Zoo (no animals involved) on Tuesday, June 30th - 10:30AM to 12:30PM for the Union Library of Hatboro in Hatboro, PA.

NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE is required.  We need help keeping tables of instruments (and their signs) organized.  Our goal is to inspire the next generation of music makers.  We'll show you how to demonstrate some of the more unique percussion instruments (it, literally, takes on seconds) and you'll be having lots of fun in no time.

STUDENTS:  For high school students, we can provide a Volunteer Credit Service Letter.  For college bound or current college students, we provide a stipend.

Help us feed hungry seniors by loading boxes of food into delivery vehicles! Share Food Program needs your support to feed our most vulnerable population of senior citizens. Share sends nearly 7,000 boxes of shelf-stable food out to senior citizens every month, and over half of them are mobility-impaired: whether they are disabled, immunocompromised, and/or just don't have access to reliable transportation, many of our senior food box recipients cannot travel out to our pantries and other distribution sites to pick up their monthly food boxes. For this reason, we run a home delivery distribution every Friday, during which volunteers help us to load boxes into delivery drivers' vehicles. We have a particular need for volunteers that are comfortable with the repetitive lifting of a 30-pound box, but for those with lifting restrictions, we also need support with loading lighter blocks of cheese into each delivery vehicle.

Each month, members of the Heroic Gardens Volunteer Squad get together on a Saturday morning to pack materials for our Virtual Garden program and send out kits to over 60 Veterans across the US!

At Zia we provide balanced and nutritious food to Philadelphia’s schoolchildren. Our delivery drivers will follow a pre-determined route and deliver meals to member families on Saturday mornings. Delivery takes place from 10:15AM - 12:00.

At Zia we provide balanced and nutritious food to Philadelphia’s schoolchildren. We need a team of volunteers who have a vehicle and can pick up produce/grocery orders for Zia on Friday mornings from 8:00-10:30 and bring them to our pantry base. * Must have a vehicle and be able to lift grocery bags/ produce boxes (30lb or less)

At Zia we provide balanced and nutritious food to Philadelphia’s schoolchildren. Our pantry packers will pack meal kits on Saturday mornings at our local church pantry. Zia provides fresh produce and an entire recipe, plus sandwich supplies in each member family bag. Packing takes place from 9:00AM - 11:00 on Saturdays.

The Food Services Volunteer assists in keeping our Grab 'n Go Food Service area stocked and ready for our guest families to use.  This role is for an energetic and organized person who enjoys helping people, is adept at stocking/re-stocking perishable and non-perishable food items and supplies and is interested in potential food prep opportunities.

Shuttle Van Drivers transport guest families from the Ronald McDonald House to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in our Toyota Sienna minivans and Ford Transit vans. Applicants must be between age 21 years old to 70 years old, have a clean driving record and experience with city driving. 

Minimum commitment: 2 shifts per month for 12 months or longer. After an interview, successful applicants will receive a 2-hour orientation and behind-the-wheel on-shift training.

The Ronald McDonald House serves families 365 days per year. Van Drivers are needed daily and shifts vary.

Looking for volunteer(s) who can drive to Philabundance location at 3616 South Galloway Street, Philadelphia, PA (near Sports Complex) to pick up produce and deliver to the pantry on TUESDAY mornings. Pick-up time is between 8-8:30am.

Sharing Excess is looking for volunteers to join us at the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market to assist with sorting and packaging donated produce to be redistributed out into the community! This opportunity is held within a refrigerated warehouse space, so please dress warmly. We can have up to 15 people for this opportunity. The tasks include sorting rescued produce from community partners and some minor lifting. It is a great opportunity to see how food rescue operations work and help minimize waste within communities.

Be a part of our mission to alleviate food insecurity in our community by redistributing excess food that would otherwise go to waste.  Sharing Excess hosts pop-up distributions up at parks throughout the city to bring free food markets directly to neighborhoods. Volunteers will assist with setting up tents, tables, and produce boxes, and distributing food out to community members, no questions asked.  This volunteer opportunity happens every Saturday from 12PM-2PM.

Safe-Hub uses soccer to create safe spaces, teach social-emotional skills, and build community in Kensington, North Philadelphia. We have several coaching options for the upcoming spring season, coaching ages 4-18 at the beginner, recreational, and competitive levels. Speak another language? Put that skill to use! HIAS Pennsylvania is a local nonprofit that provides legal and supportive services low-income immigrants as they build their new lives in our community. We are looking for volunteers to provide document translation, virtual interpretation, and in-person interpretation on an as-needed basis. Highly needed languages include Arabic, Pashto, Dari, Urdu, Swahili, Russian, Ukrainian, French [in person, business hours only], Haitian Creole, Tigrinya, Spanish [in person, business hours only], Rohingya and Burmese. Once you complete our intake process, you can indicate your preferences/availability. We would then add you to a list, and then staff would reach out with requests that could occur all around the city. No specialized vocabulary is required, and there is no minimum time commitment - you can just respond when you are able! Our Penn Medicine Community Fridge, located at the Boys & Girls Club of Chester, helps to battle food insecurity by providing non-perishables, refrigerated, and frozen foods. If you would like to help fill the fridge please drop food by the fridge from 10-7pm, Monday-Friday!

Help new readers strengthen their vocabulary. If you have good penmanship write one word from each set on an index card (using different colored cards or ink for each of 3 lists of words). Or print, cut and bundle the words on card stock. Here is the link to the set. Make as many sets as you like, no deadline.
